On The Farm With H&R Agri-Power
Owners & Founders: Jeff & Tonya Sexton
At Dakota Ranch Highlands, this way of life wasn’t inherited, it was built. What began as a shared vision between Jeff and Tonya Sexton has grown into a ranch shaped by long hours, determination, and a deep respect for the land.
Starting from the ground up, Jeff and Tonya worked side by side to establish Dakota Ranch Highlands, making thoughtful decisions along the way and learning through experience. Progress didn’t come overnight. It came from adapting to challenges, managing risk, and staying committed to building something that would last.
“For us it is all about service and support and H&R has always been there from a service standpoint” – Jeff Sexton.
Like any working ranch, Dakota Ranch Highlands faces new demands each season. Weather, timing, and efficiency all play a role, and staying productive means having equipment and support that can be relied on when it matters most. From daily responsibilities to the busiest times of the year, dependable tools and responsive service are critical to keeping the ranch moving forward.
A Day On Dakota Ranch Highlands
That need for reliability is what led Dakota Ranch Highlands to develop a relationship with H&R Agri-Power. Over time, that relationship has grown into a dependable partnership, providing confidence that support is always available when challenges arise. Working with Jessica Lindhorst, their H&R Agri-Power sales representative, has helped ensure their equipment needs are met as the ranch continues to grow.
For Jeff and Tonya, dependable equipment is only part of the equation. What truly makes the difference is having a team behind the equipment that understands the realities of ranch life. From knowledgeable sales support to responsive parts and service teams, H&R Agri-Power has proven to be a reliable resource when timing matters most.
“We didn’t grow up running equipment, so every piece we’ve added has come with a learning curve. The H&R team has always been great about showing us the ropes.” – Jeff Sexton.
Co-Owner
Whether it’s selecting the right machine for the job, keeping equipment running during critical windows, or offering practical guidance backed by real-world experience, H&R Agri-Power has become more than a dealer, they are a trusted partner invested in the continued success of Dakota Ranch Highlands.
Ranching demands long hours, careful planning, and the peace of mind that help is just a phone call away. That confidence allows Jeff and Tonya Sexton to stay focused on what matters most. Caring for their land, their livestock, and the future they are building together.
At H&R Agri-Power, supporting customers like Dakota Ranch Highlands means more than providing equipment. It means understanding their goals, responding when it matters most, and standing beside them season after season.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the machines, it’s about the people, the partnership, and growing stronger together
Owner: Eddie Petty and his son Ed T Petty
At Ed T Petty Farm in Pulaski, Tennessee, farming is a tradition that runs deep. The Petty family represents six generations of farmers, continuing a tradition built on dedication to the land and a commitment to agriculture.
Their operation focuses on raising crops and growing hay, working the same ground that has supported their family for generations. Like many farms across the region, their work follows the rhythm of the seasons—preparing fields, planting, maintaining their crops, and producing hay during the summer. It’s work that requires long days, careful planning, and a deep respect for the land. Through the challenges that come with agriculture, optimism remains an important part of farming. As he shared while reflecting on life in agriculture, “A farmer always has hope.” - Eddie Petty.
That hope is what keeps farmers planting each season, trusting that the work they put in today will lead to a successful harvest tomorrow. Running equipment in the field also means having dependable support when it’s needed most. As he explained,
“When you run equipment, you’ve got to have parts and service to back it up.” - Eddie Petty.
That’s where H&R Agri-Power comes in. For the Petty family, H&R Agri-Power is more than just an equipment dealer—it’s a trusted partner in every season. From quality parts and reliable service to expert advice and support, H&R helps ensure the farm keeps running smoothly, even when the unexpected happens.

Owners: Trent & Tom, along with Trent's son, Tyler
For many successful farming operations, the farm seen today is the result of generations of hard work, thoughtful management, and a deep commitment to agriculture. Boyd Grain Farms is a strong example of that tradition in action.
The Boyd family’s farming roots run deep. In 1977, Tom Boyd’s parents, Lavern and Robert Boyd, were featured on a State Farm Management Tour. At that time, Robert farmed alongside his sons, Tom and Steve. Each partner owned approximately 200 acres, while the partnership rented an additional 1,400 acres. Even then, the Boyd family had developed a reputation for sound management and forward-thinking decisions that positioned the farm for long-term success.
One example of that foresight came when the family expanded their grain handling system. Rather than constructing additional storage only at the home farm, they built a second facility at another location. This decision provided flexibility for the future should the next generation wish to operate separate farming operations.

Today, Boyd Grain Farms continues to build upon that legacy of careful planning and dedication to the land. The farm produces corn, popcorn, and soybeans, crops that require careful management and attention throughout the growing season.
The operation is currently managed by Tom Boyd and his son, Trent, while another generation has recently returned to the farm as Trent’s son, Tyler, joined the operation full-time in 2025 after graduating from college.
Like many family farms, Boyd Grain Farms operates year-round with a wide range of responsibilities. From planting and crop management during the growing season to winter projects such as installing tile drainage, building terraces, and improving farm ground, the Boyd family remains focused on continually improving their land and operation.
For Trent Boyd, farming has always been more than a career.

“Farming is really more of a way of life than it is a job,” he explains. “If you love the land and the opportunity to farm God’s land, it is very rewarding to watch crops grow and see the results of your work throughout the season.” - Trent Boyd.
Equipment plays an important role in maintaining efficiency across the operation. Boyd Grain Farms operates Case IH equipment, including the new Case IH AF Series combines. Grain quality is especially important to the Boyd family, particularly with their popcorn production.
“The grain quality of the Case IH combines has been very good for us,” Trent says. “We grow a lot of popcorn, and the Case IH rotor combines have really done an excellent job when it comes to maintaining grain quality.” - Trent Boyd.
In addition to their combines, the Boyd family also relies on Case IH Steiger Quadtrac tractors for demanding field work. “The Steiger Quadtrac is a really good tractor, and we’ve gotten along very well with them.” - Trent Boyd.
With multiple generations working together, Boyd Grain Farms continues to reflect the dedication, stewardship, and commitment that define successful family farming operations
