Efficient processing

Maximize loading speed and productivity using the patented SmartGrind system and hydraulic feed roller down pressure. Open-ended, wide infeed tables are designed to make over-the-side loading easy and efficient. 

A 60-in (152.4-cm) wide infeed table with flared sidewalls can accommodate a large volume of material.

The HG4000E has a 500-hp (373-kW) WEG® totally-enclosed, fan-cooling electric motor for the mill, a 50-hp (37.3-kW) motor for the hydraulic pump, and a 2-hp (1.5-kW) motor for hydraulic cooling.  

Flexible configurations

For enhanced flexibility within a single machine, a dedicated chip drum, adjustable for product size ranging from .125 in - 1 in (.3 cm - 2.5 cm), is available.

Improve cutting performance using the patented Series II duplex drum system designed with reversible hammers and tips to help reduce daily maintenance and nearly double wear life.  

Hinged, dual screens boost processing efficiency and offer flexibility in end product sizing.

Intelligent operation

The intelligent feed system monitors the machine's engine speed, and holds the engine at an optimal level. This allows you to spend more time feeding and less time adjusting settings. 

Machine damage caused by metal contaminants entering the hammermill can be costly. The Vermeer Damage Defense system helps protect your machine by detecting certain metal contaminants.

An industry-leading, full-function, wireless remote control lets you adjust machine settings from the cab as conditions change, including control of the infeed settings, engine droop, conveyor height and more.  

Safety

Reduce the quantity and distance of thrown material debris with the Thrown Object Deflector (TOD), strategically placed to reduce interference when loading over-length material.
