2218 (9 Tons) Features & Benefits

Montag’s GEN 2 metering system has a unique modular design that allows it to be adapted to your needs as your operation changes and evolves for years to come. 

The 2218 GEN 2 model is capable of blending 2 products at different rates from two poly bins (9 tons of total capacity).  It also can be configured with up to 18 rows and up to 4 sections.  

The reversible plenum and configurable platform allow for very flexible mounting options. 

It is also configured with a sealed plastic lid which was updated for model year 2025.

Bin Options The 2218 includes two sealed bins (9 tons total capacity). 
  • They can be scaled and metered independently (2 products) or “chained” together for 1 product application in the MDRC controller. 
  • Available in gray, yellow, or white poly. 
For Model 2025, Montag updated the lid design to use a sealed plastic lid.  This update improves the lid seal while providing a more ergonomic solution. 
A full set of (4) 3/4” and (2) 1/2” screens are included. 

Efficient Hydraulic Design The 2218 uses a Crary fan with an efficient hydraulic design that allows machine to operate on a single hydraulic SCV. 
Built for reliable use in fertilizer and cover crop applications. 
  • Pressure relief protects key hydraulic components like the fan motor seal. 

Air Delivery 
  • Up to eighteen 2” outlets, easily reconfigured. 
  • Splitters can be added to serve more rows at lower rates. 

Section Control
  • Supports up to 4 sections. 
  • Sections can be added later. 
  • Sections are controlled by hydraulic motors and PWM valves for durability. 

Dry Controller 
  • 47 Pin (JDRC2000, Raven RCM) 
    • Options for integrated load cell wiring
